| Statistics are from our last fiscal year, July 1, 2010 – June 30, 2011. Abused Children — 245 victims served. We worked with children and their families who had been abused physically, sexually, emotionally, verbally and/or neglected. We also worked with adults who were abused as children. Crisis Nursery — 43 guardians and 72 children served; 317 placements provided for a total of 2,396.75 hours and 50 overnight stays; 16 guardians were offered parenting education. We enabled families in crisis to voluntarily place their children with a crisis care provider. We provided information and referrals, in addition to parental support and education through this service. General Crime — 367 victims served. We worked with victims of general crimes. This meant that our services helped someone if they were a victim of a physical assault, harassment, stalking, identity theft, attempted murder, male victims of intimate partner violence, in addition to other crime victimizations. Parenting Time — 46 guardians and 72 children served; 737 parenting times scheduled and 446 occurred; 32 safe exchanges scheduled and 21 occurred. We provided a safe, positive and neutral environment for children and their non-custodial parent(s) to have parenting time or safe exchange. Prevention and Professional Education — provided 310 community educational presentations to 12,001 participants; provided 37 professional presentations to 887 participants. We offered educational programs to area schools, professionals and community groups regarding crime-related topics. Program topics included boundaries, bullying, child abuse, family violence, internet safety, mandated reporting, personal body safety, sexual assault/abuse, sexual harassment and more. Sexual Assault — 188 victims served. Our role was to be an advocate/support person for the rape or sexual assault victim and their families; this included victims of partner rape, acquaintance rape, date rape, stranger rape, gang rape, ritualistic rape or any form of sexual assault. We also addressed sexual harassment and hostile work environment issues. |
